Hulong Temple

According to the Cixi County Annuals, the temple was built during the reign of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. In February in the 22nd year of Daoguang, Dabao Mountain was burned down by English invaders. In the first year of Xianfeng, Qin Tanyue failed to rebuild the temple. At the time when the Republic of China was established, Ms. Yu donated her money to rebuild the temple. When the construction was completed, celebrities and scholars from all over Cicheng gathered in the ceremony and the famous calligrapher Qian Han inscribed on a rock (still exists today) to commemorate this occasion. In 1998, with the assistance of the local government and the Buddhism Association, Hulong Temple reclaimed its new life. Since then, the spot has become a tourist attraction far and near.
